Valle de Sognante

December 13, 2008 at 4:26 pm (Uncategorized)

Righty, just to clarify, I havent done any form of landscape before, so its a little crap ^^;

Basically, its the setting for the first scene in my as yet unnamed doujinshi. The Valle de Sognante (Dreaming Valley), overlooked by the Passi de Gigantes (Giants stariway), with the A Casa da me Recupero (Recovery house).

All translations are aproximates, so dont get cross if its wrong :P

Landscapes be hard.

      Fanks Mimi ^^, its just me doing a bit at a time at the moment. Though a circle/group would make it alot easier ^^;

    It looks lovely! Background don’t have to be *very* detailed, it really depends on your style as well.
    I think the amount of detail in your characters kind of compensates for your progressing knowledge in background art.
    My doujin circle stand currently at one as well. so it’s possible to work ^^;
    Just that there’s no one to help you when you’re alone T_T

      I’m working on me backgrounds, since its hard to convey any epic-ness with a pretty plain background, hehe.

      I’d have a circle if I could, but no-one else is interested in my part of England ^^;
      Oh well, persistance and all that.

    Hmm, I understand background help to set the scene, though they don’t have to be extremely detailed ^^
    I’ll try to scan some examples in the for, if you’d like? They help me when I like to have some form of guidance or decision.

    I’d totally join your circle but, yeah… I’m all the way in SA. T_T
    Guess we’ll suffer the same fate for a while.. but, that’s not a bad thing. Thing look up after great struggle (b^o^)7

      I know, but I feel like I put all my effort into the characters, and nothing else. Hell I’m still trying to figure out where to add a bit of humour to alleviate the dark and rather morbid atmosphere ^^;

      And the offer of some scans would be nice, thank you. I’ll try to get what I’ve done up soon (still in pencil stage so it might be patchy, sorry)

    That is what is more important, in my humble opinion. I find that characters (apart from stroy) is what makes people remember your work.
    Humour is a good ice breaker ^__^

    As for the pages…I have to clean them up a bit, as I scanned them rather cautiously, didn’t want to damage the book ^^;
